Larry David as Sanders on SNL last night:
I just watched the pilot of this new tv series, Minority Report, a sequel to the earlier film and both based on PK Dick's short story. The pre-cog unit has been dismantled, the pre-cogs went into hiding and now they are grown up. But one, Dash, is still haunted by visions of incipient murders and needs to do something about it. I liked it and it looks to be a good one so I'll keep watching.
Cool - sounds interesting. I will watch the episode this weekend if it is on On Demand. I watched another series through On Demand recently that I enjoyed: HUMANS, about AI and the ethical and social problems that surround its emergence.
Yeah, one of my favs and long ago voted by me as the most likely to come to pass as far as the tech. BTW., I believe I've long had minor and non-controllable pre-cog abilities from a quite young age . I could give many examples but will touch on one of the most recent ones . In August during the long drought here and having not looked at a weather forecast I momentarily stared at a light switch in my hall in a trance like manner ; I marked the weirdness of the moment and disregarded the sensation . I woke up early morning to a stream of water pouring through that wall when a flash downpour came out of no where that night ......
NOTE: I don't consider this supernatural but more some kind of anomaly within consciousness .
All the episodes are free on the Fox link I provided above. I think there have been 4 or 5 episodes already, so I have some catching up to do.
You know, if he just scrapped income tax and only implemented consumption taxes then he would, IMO, be implementing the best of right leaning economic theory; of course, he would also have to address currency monopoly and we all know that can never be allowed .
Oh, BTW., that overview on the history of left wing economic thought you posted a while back far surpassed anything I've ever read from the right, whether Adam Smith; Chicago School; Mises, etc.
Having said that : healthy forms of right and left economical thinking have failed to be implemented on the planet to date ; which is why I promote new ways of thinking and acting not tied to these centuries old schisms .
