Need IT assistance

Open Integral blog is now gone. The domain name was owned by someone who never participated in the blog and let the domain name expire. I tried to buy it but the server for the site, after the domain expiration, dumped it. The good news is that I have the posts saves in an .spl file that seems to need Wordpress blog to open. Is anyone familiar with how I can change the data in this file into a word document so that I can then re-post the old OI posts on my current blog? Thanks in advance for any help.

I don't know how to do this, but of the members here, I expect Michael DuBois might know.  I will alert him to your post.

This is a new one for me, but friend Google might be helpful, as usual.  Just try googling convert .spl file, and see if there's anything useful arising.  Such as this: http://www.all2pdf.com/spl-batch-converter.htm

I'm a technoklutz and realized it's stored in an SQL database. One needs an SQL program or server to open it. Anyone here have or know of such an animal? I can download an SQL freeware program but I don't have the first clue as to how to use it.
