What? There's only one discussion going on in the Pub?

That's definitely not enough. Barman! Another drink for me and the boys!

In the meantime I'll choose a song from the Jukebox:

Here's another one from my yute, the theme song to the movie Easy Rider. Both are part of my DNA.

Since we're discussing the movie Noah in another thread, the only movie of this ilk I every liked was Jesus Christ Superstar. The whole movie is here. For now here's the opening song that highlights the humanitarian interpretation, and why to this day I still like it.

False equivalencies.

Since the Nephilim appear in Genesis 6 I found this song by Fields of the Nephilim:

This is aural syrup:

Awake, by Tycho.

Awesome little chill album.

So far just heard the title track and like it.

Apocalyptic freak-folk?

"Altered Beast,"by Kithkin, from their forthcoming album, Rituals, Trances & Ecstasies For Humans in Face of The Collapse

All my people are dancing,
Drunk on the world advancing,
We can reclaim the light,
'Til then we dance through night.

I'm an animal,
We are human.

Born with a crimson hand,
Beneath a falling moon,
But we can always choose
To make the best of this
To dance in all the gloom,
Make love to certain doom.

Forest on fire and a rising sea,
The end's been nigh since we could speak,
Things don't have to be so bleak.

I know we can start again
I know we can convalesce
I know we can make amends.

The group's self-description:  Kithkin are a Cascadian youth tribe out to spread the hidden knowledge of the forests. Through its rituals and performances, Kithkin hopes to confront crowds about the impending 'end of things' through witchee rhythms and chaotic sorcery.

Cool stuff.  Out of Gothenburg, Sweden, a hybrid of psychedelic, krautrock, and punk music.

Sonson - A Shine Below the Mound

Foghorn reminded me a lot of The Doors, without Morrison singing. Medicine Lumber even more.

A new single by Lana Del Rey. The voice and music are as usual dreamy but the video is boring.

Speaking of The Doors, this one was banging around my brain yesterday.

Has your experience with calling the cable company been like this? I've been there.

What paths lie ahead for religion and spirituality in the 21st Century? How might the insights of modernity and post-modernity impact and inform humanity's ancient wisdom traditions? How are we to enact, together, new spiritual visions – independently, or within our respective traditions – that can respond adequately to the challenges of our times?

This group is for anyone interested in exploring these questions and tracing out the horizons of an integral post-metaphysical spirituality.
