What? There's only one discussion going on in the Pub?

That's definitely not enough. Barman! Another drink for me and the boys!

In the meantime I'll choose a song from the Jukebox:

That he was actually labeled a terrorist is astonishing, the level of regressive thinking in this world. The good news is that Mandela triumphed over that and changed the world. Yes, there are still powerful regressive forces but with the likes of Mandela we fight on and make progress. History proves which side is right.

An old favorite. It starts out with 2 guitarists on the boardwalk but after a few seconds transitions into the full band doing a live stage performance.

To say hello and to add something silly and lol-inducing --

Hahaha!  Wow.

Hello.

And now for something more in keeping with the season. Really a delight --

Interesting article. "A team of physicists has provided some of the clearest evidence yet that our Universe could be just one big projection. [...] It solved apparent inconsistencies between quantum physics and Einstein's theory of gravity."

Very strange.  Given my recent readings, it reminds me somewhat of one of Bhaskar's mechanisms of nonduality: co-presence, which is the holographic or fractal embedment of all things in each.

Speaking of that uncle at family holiday gatherings:

Greetings and salutations to all in this season of celebration, whatever that is for you. I celebrate the return of the sun after the darkest night of the year (solstice). It takes a few days after that for the sun to start climbing in the sky again, but only if, like with Tinker Bell, we celebrate whatever it is we believe in.

Without that celebration the sun might just sink below the horizon, never to return. So get busy and celebrate good times, come on!

Greetings and blessings to you, too, friend, in this season of light.  I made a video poem for the occasion.

Nice. Recalling the humble beginnings of Christ in the straw of a manger, animals all around, Mary and Joseph not being able to afford a doctor and there was no Obamacare... Today's regressive conservatives would likely say they were lazy and shiftless and deny them any food to eat. They have forgotten the origins of their own professed religion, which they flout when it comes to values but they do not enact any of them. If Jesus as a strange beggar came knocking on their door for help he would be turned away. And that's the thing, the poorest and weakest among us have Jesus in them too, and deserve our respect and help. With the regressives set on ending the extension of unemployment benefits a few days after Christmas, as well as gutting food stamps, we all need to descend on them with the wrath of Jesus to the moneychangers and tell them to do what Jesus would do.

What paths lie ahead for religion and spirituality in the 21st Century? How might the insights of modernity and post-modernity impact and inform humanity's ancient wisdom traditions? How are we to enact, together, new spiritual visions – independently, or within our respective traditions – that can respond adequately to the challenges of our times?

This group is for anyone interested in exploring these questions and tracing out the horizons of an integral post-metaphysical spirituality.
