Just started it so a couple of quick comments. I appreciate that for him mysticism is not an individual experience but a social practice. And the emphasis on desire not for an object but for the amorphous and mysterious unknown. I also agree that the epitome of the personal experience school of mysticism culminated with William James, who I said was the founder of the transpersonal movement in this thread.
At the moment, this site is at full membership capacity and we are not admitting new members. We are still getting new membership applications, however, so I am considering upgrading to the next level, which will allow for more members to join. In the meantime, all discussions are open for viewing and we hope you will read and enjoy the content here.
