Present pagan that I am, I still enjoy Christmas. Winter solstice has just passed, our tree is sparking with light, gifts are wrapped and ready, my son is giddy with excitement, and I feel a bit of the magic, too. In this season, I like to sit in the evenings, after most everyone has retired to bed, and watch the lights sparkle in the dark boughs of the tree.
Perhaps this is the former monkish aspirant speaking, but I've long appreciate Arvo Pärt's choral music, especially its balancing of light and dark, sound and silence.
Merry Christmas, to those of you who celebrate it.
What paths lie ahead for religion and spirituality in the 21st Century? How might the insights of modernity and post-modernity impact and inform humanity's ancient wisdom traditions? How are we to enact, together, new spiritual visions – independently, or within our respective traditions – that can respond adequately to the challenges of our times?
This group is for anyone interested in exploring these questions and tracing out the horizons of an integral post-metaphysical spirituality.
