The Cave

 

 

Just back from watching Cave of Forgotten Dreams in 3-D.  At one moment, watching my family next to me from the corners of my eyes, and the gorgeous cave art tableaus unfolding at the center of my vision, I had a moving, vertiginous sense of a deep time telescoping, like two points in time had been folded and brought together, or like two timelessly co-present worlds were lapping against, and bleeding into, each other.  A beautiful moment, which for me brought up a lot gratefulness and an expanded sense of being.

Beautifully expressed, Bruce. I hadn't heard of this film so I looked it up and found the trailer. Thanks for the heads-up!

Thanks, Mary.  Yes, I definitely recommend it.  Even my son enjoyed it (though he did get a little restless by the end).  Seeing it in 3-D really added to it and made the place come alive.
