Mark Forman called my attention yesterday to the following paper:

Very interesting. I quickly scrolled down the paper and found a list of current integral thinkers on page 60, which include Wilber, Bhaskar, and Paul Ehrlich, among others. I was surprised to see Ehrlich's name on this list, rather than someone like Edgar Morin or Thomas Berry to represent the ecological emphasis. This will be interesting to read in the context of Tim Winton's paper in regards to rational spirituality.

I just saw a few moments ago, as I reviewing Winton's paper, that Winton actually references this essay...so this is timely, since Winton's paper is the next in line for discussion.  Would you like to start the thread on Winton's paper, David, on our ITC 2013 Paper Review board?  I was starting to put together an opening post for it, but since I was planning to include your list of questions as a sort of guide for what follows, I thought I'd ask if you'd like to take the initiative with that discussion...  You don't have to, but in case you would like.

David, I decided to go ahead and start the thread, which I have posted here.  Please feel free to join in the discussion and to add whatever you would like.

What paths lie ahead for religion and spirituality in the 21st Century? How might the insights of modernity and post-modernity impact and inform humanity's ancient wisdom traditions? How are we to enact, together, new spiritual visions – independently, or within our respective traditions – that can respond adequately to the challenges of our times?

This group is for anyone interested in exploring these questions and tracing out the horizons of an integral post-metaphysical spirituality.
