This is a continuation of a private discussion with Thomas, but I ran into the 1000 word limit and feel it's an interesting discussion for the group as a whole.  ... You said, "Bohm did not break…Continue

"Creation vs. causation... or immanence as creative causation. Very stimulating thoughts,Thomas. Thanks much for your sparks!"

Joel Morrison replied to Joel Morrison's discussion Self-Similarity and the Quantum
"Yes, it's an oscillation between fundamental states of matter, ultimately: solidity and fluidity, and their modal manifestations the particle and the wave.  Sorce Theory gives the causal principle of complimentary which shows…"

Joel Morrison replied to Balder's discussion Tom on "Quantum Enlightenment"
"Exactly, Thomas, and Sorce Theory is essentially a cymatics in a continuous fluid dynamics.  It's the perfect analogy and the root of complexity, which is why it works."

Joel Morrison replied to Balder's discussion Tom on "Quantum Enlightenment"
"Well, with the shift to the complexity view, with its immanent causation, we come to a very different basis for ouderstanding these events based on emergence from deep complexity.  This is what the "wave nature" is.  Prior to…"

Joel Morrison replied to Balder's discussion Tom on "Quantum Enlightenment"
"Well I've seen much of it rendered entirely sensible.  I'd say that this "weirdness" is just complexity without a model to understand it.  Get a model that factors in complexity and it's much more understandable.…"

Joel Morrison replied to Balder's discussion Tom on "Quantum Enlightenment"
"I would say that this is a reflection of Quantum Theory, not of "the quantum world".  It is true that current Quantum Theory does not have the qualitative aspect, namely a post-classical causation (immanent) nor an ontological…"

"  Hi Tom, your post about the financial crash is depressing. But of course it’s a prelude to a shift to yellow and a brave new world. I’ll comment on that thread I’m interested in how that plays out. I’m picking up from…"

infimitas replied to Joel Morrison's discussion Self-Similarity and the Quantum
"Hi Joel,     I've gone forwards and backwards on this issue.  At the moment, the arbitrary nature of holonic scales makes me think that they serve as useful and flexible models rather than actual ontological joints "out…"

What paths lie ahead for religion and spirituality in the 21st Century? How might the insights of modernity and post-modernity impact and inform humanity's ancient wisdom traditions? How are we to enact, together, new spiritual visions – independently, or within our respective traditions – that can respond adequately to the challenges of our times?

This group is for anyone interested in exploring these questions and tracing out the horizons of an integral post-metaphysical spirituality.
