yeah, i hear ya! someone should show kenny benjamin moore's color palette!

on the veridian: when i was young i was very dark green protesting nuclear and doing the vegan thing and growing sprouts, and trying to live in the bush and all....it didn't take long to see that a few well intentioned individuals were going to have zero effect on the massive movement of modernity....which is why i started the reintegration of orange in 2002. i've moved back to the urban center, bought a brand new van for eco-reasons and drive it sparingly. it doesn't leak oil all over the roads and the emissions are far less than my old '66 rambler......in other words, i pretty well completely agree with that article and if one were to read all my posts on gaia carefully over 4 years on this issue one would see that i said many of the same things as the veridians. at least now i know which color of green i am! thx. rl........p.s. i listened to paul watson speak last week and was happy to hear that he was in a much more positive frame of mind then when i last listened to him 5 years ago when he sounded like he hated humanity....
Thanks andrew, I appreciate your comments. :)

My whole point was to show that there exists different modes of being within movements themselves, or even within individuals. Yes, the veridian green (orange-green) is a much brighter shade than say for example eco-terrorism, or PETA for example, which might be green-red. I think we can embody higher states of being within our own lives. It always surprised me that the ecological movement cares for the environment but doesn't extend that out to humans. The new age movement I think would be green-magenta (because they include a lot of magical beliefs. I wonder myself what an eco-holistic (or green-turquoise) view would look like?

For me personally, I've always not liked being "mono"-colored, as if the spiral dynamics colors were the only palette. I think there exists different shades of the individual due to their being not just their worldview. I've been called everything from Amber, to Orange, to Green etc. I am not. Everyone here is at least yellow (Integral) (let's just say we are to avoid pointless bickering :) Sometimes I am Yellow (Integral)-yellow or joyful, and sometimes I am Yellow-orange (rational) and sometimes I can even be Yellow-couragous (red) against those other elements of red I have to deal with. (Under Wilber's book I would be Turquoise, I think).

The most serious threat I think is the red being. For example the Amber-red of Islamic terrorism. Traditional Amber is not the problem...Amber red though is. At best the red is a minor annoyance...at worst it is a call for bloodshed itself or will kill people itself.

This I think, is the ultimate promise of Integral theory...that there exists higher more inclusive worldviews, higher states of consciousness and higher states of being we can embody within our own lives...

Our lives are colored by our beliefs...and are more like a Tom Jenson painting...

I see the colors as part of our emotional "being" and I tried to convey that they weren't strick stages... It was more like we had a "worldview" that was a predominant "color"...and our emotions which waxed and waned, day to day, minute to minute. Of course our emotions color our worldview and vica verca. I think balancing out "red" or acceptance of our anger is a good idea, and can eventually even help us to release it. I don't think we should deny our feelings at all...but that we should reflect on them as a tool for self-realization. :)

What paths lie ahead for religion and spirituality in the 21st Century? How might the insights of modernity and post-modernity impact and inform humanity's ancient wisdom traditions? How are we to enact, together, new spiritual visions – independently, or within our respective traditions – that can respond adequately to the challenges of our times?

This group is for anyone interested in exploring these questions and tracing out the horizons of an integral post-metaphysical spirituality.
