Hello,

don't know if you follow german politics, but there was a development lately that I think is worth posting here.

It's about former minister of defense, Dr. Karl Theodor zu Guttenberg. He is a handsome guy, a descendant of old german aristocracy, and his looks and hairdo was always perfect while he was kissing babyies or talking to the press. He was rather popular (before the latest scandal kicked in), the biggest german yellow press "BILD-Zeitung" featured him regularly, in a flattering way, and there were rumors that he was to become the conservative candidate in the next elections for the Chancellor of the Federal Republic of Germany. He has a beautiful wife, is swagging rich, his kids keep their hands off drugs, and so on. IOW, the perfect conservative poster boy. He even invited a camera team to the german camps in Afghanistan, where he was interviewed by a popular TV showmaster, and talked about the morale of the troops and the importance of the war in Hindukush and so on.

It seems that for some of his political enemies, things were going too well for this nice guy. One fine day, rumors appeared that Guttenberg had included passages in his dissertation from other authors without quoting correctly, which definitely is a faux-pas in academic circles. The minister publicly declared that, yes, there were mistakes in his dissertation in laws, and maybe he forgot the quotation marks here and there, but he was a hard-working man at the time, so surely he can be forgiven, no?

But the rumors did no stop, and on the Internet appeared Wiki-pages to determine how much the minster of defense had stolen from other authors. It turned out that he had copied 82% of his material, which makes him a plagiator without a doubt. It's very likely that he even paid another man to write the dissertation for him. In the end, the pressure from the press and the universities was so big that Guttenberg had no choice but to resign.

And now: the Integral Analysis. Amber Poster boy fails to develop to orange, tries to buy into the acedemic circles by paying some guy to ghost-write his dissertation. He gets caught with the fingers in the cookie jar, and falls down on his ass. For me, the surprising thing was to see the actual power of orange, who is able to punish public personalitys who think they can undermine the orange system. Nah. Not in this country, No Sir, not any more.

btw, it seems Guttenberg has not reached the end of his career yet. He retired to his bavarian electoral district, licking his wounds and waiting for his second chance. The bavarian conservative party will be more than happy to help him with it.

What paths lie ahead for religion and spirituality in the 21st Century? How might the insights of modernity and post-modernity impact and inform humanity's ancient wisdom traditions? How are we to enact, together, new spiritual visions – independently, or within our respective traditions – that can respond adequately to the challenges of our times?

This group is for anyone interested in exploring these questions and tracing out the horizons of an integral post-metaphysical spirituality.
