A satirical dialogue between a man and a woman who have made the mistake of believing that their sexual attraction to one another is not "spiritual". They have taken certain concepts too far- the (alleged) split between the body and the soul; the idea that we are not our "identifications", the value of detachment etc. This couple's perspective stands in sharp contrast to the perspective articulated in Jeff Brown's 'Soulshaping'. In its essence, Soulshaping is a model of grounded, embodied, and connective spirituality that makes no distinction between one's spiritual life and one's embodied experience, and that celebrates our personal identifications as the grist for the soul mill for our spiritual life. In Soulshaping, Jeff calls it 'Ascending with both feet on the ground" and "enrealment", and invites us to see the Godself everywhere.
What paths lie ahead for religion and spirituality in the 21st Century? How might the insights of modernity and post-modernity impact and inform humanity's ancient wisdom traditions? How are we to enact, together, new spiritual visions – independently, or within our respective traditions – that can respond adequately to the challenges of our times?
This group is for anyone interested in exploring these questions and tracing out the horizons of an integral post-metaphysical spirituality.
