"David." I'll use that behind the scenes. Do you have a preference for how I signify you in the regular discussions "on stage?" Is David okay there also? Or would you prefer me to call you Inthesaltmine (or perhaps "salt" for short) instead?

Yes, By friending each other we have a new means of communicating behind the scenes matters. Did you get my latest really down to earth description of how I might proceed with the economically and psychologically challenged community in my Columbus, Ohio area? I realized that I/we (whomever wants to join our cause) needs to use the "sociograph" approach in order to work with the natural leaders of the community. These people might act as effective emisaries, go-betweens, which offsets mistrust as one of the anticipated obstacles to postitive social transformation. Also, I narrowed down the "economic union" concept to local's participation in a single (rather than multiple) group business venture. Even if the business fails, it will help everyone learn how to work together in a way which will eventually "work" to economically empower the community. Once the economics goes up (more wealth in the community), then the de-stabilizing and economically de-valuing vacant houses can be bought up with pooled money and transformed into either better residences or into other cottage industry work-sites. Either way the transients and drug addicts won't locate there. This creates more sense of "stability," which, per my discussion with a mission-involved church member, seems to be a major issue.

Darrell

Thanks,

Darrell

Welcome to the Integral Postmetaphysical Spirituality group, David.  I look forward to your contributions.  (I received your note on Integral Life as well and will be happy to share my notes on the Sloterdijk presentation, once I have them available).

Best wishes,

What paths lie ahead for religion and spirituality in the 21st Century? How might the insights of modernity and post-modernity impact and inform humanity's ancient wisdom traditions? How are we to enact, together, new spiritual visions – independently, or within our respective traditions – that can respond adequately to the challenges of our times?

This group is for anyone interested in exploring these questions and tracing out the horizons of an integral post-metaphysical spirituality.
